In today’s post, I want to take a moment to spotlight what some of our podcast guests have been doing to maximize this season. There are so many amazing ideas out there and I hope some of these inspire you and your church to try something new!
Pastor Brandon Barber // Elevate People – Houston, Texas (Episode 2)
I have loved watching Brandon and his church getting out and helping their community during this time. Their team has been delivering meals to families across their city and making a huge impact. If conditions in your location allow, I’d encourage you to serve your community tangibly. It is such a great opportunity!
Pastor Joshua Bingle // Genesis Church – Spokane, Washington (Episode 3)
Josh has been taking to Instagram and goes live every weekday, sharing encouragement from Proverbs and interviewing fellow pastors. Some of his guests have included fellow GoCast guests such as Pastor Justin Jenkins and Pastor Micah Pelkey. Pastor Josh’s church page also releases midweek worship experiences on Instagram and Facebook. So many great opportunities to stay connected with and encourage his church!
Pastor Leon Fontaine // Springs Church – Winnipeg, Manitoba & Calgary, Alberta (Episode 5)
Restrictions on gatherings have not stopped Leon and his team from creatively engaging their church. Springs has been hosting drive-in style church at their Winnipeg location! Church members have been gathering in their vehicles at a local parking lot and Leon speaks live, being projected onto a massive screen. Drivers tune into a radio station to listen in. How cool is that?
Pastor Brandon Stewart // Leading Second – Seattle, Washington (Episode 11)
Brandon and his Leading Second team have been very present on their platforms during this time, releasing content specifically designed to lead church teams through this time and hosting online meetups to further connect with their followers. They have also reimagined their Coaching Groups to specifically equip people during this season. I love seeing what Brandon is doing to help teams through this uncertain time!
Pastor Joshua Bowers // Cross and Anchor Church – Detroit, Michigan (Episode 19)
In my interview with Josh, we discussed keeping social media social and he and his church are doing just that during this season. Not only is he gathering his congregation online for services, but he also joins forces with other churches in his area to host online worship nights, a pastors gathering, and prayer. Where there is unity, God commands a blessing!
Pastor Evan Allnutt // Northgate Church – Courtenay, British Columbia (Episode 20)
Evan and his team have been sharing some fun and creative family activities to keep kids busy while at home as well as some kitchen inspiration for those who are looking to get cooking during isolation. Evan has also taken to Instagram live to share some encouraging devotionals with his church family. Check out that beach!
For the first time in our lifetime, the church is strictly outside our doors! What an opportunity to reach those that we haven’t been able to before. I hope these examples have inspired you and have given you some ideas to use with your teams. If you have found some creative ways to reach people during this season, comment below! We want to hear what’s been working for you.
Keep your eyes on our feed as we have a new episode releasing on Monday! Our special guest is a member of our local government and I am excited to share our conversation. Stay tuned!
